Russia. Although she may be best known as a teacher and
choreographer of jazz dance, her 30 years of experience

in the field of dance have been wide-ranging and diverse.
Throughout her career, she has been immersed as a
performer and choreographer in modern and postmodern
dance, improvisation and contact improvisation, and ballet,
which was central to her training and development. Young
received a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and women'’s
studies from Harvard University and a Master of Fine Arts in
dance from the University of lllinois. Young demonstrates an
outstanding commitment to continuous professional growth
and integrity in the studio and the classroom. We're proud to
call her one of our own!

Crossing Boundaries: The Music of

Fugue Mill
1140 Boylston Street, Room 1A

Come listen to the eclectic music of Fugue Mill. Presenters
will perform selections from their repertoire and explain
their process of integrating multiple styles, from jazz and
bluegrass to Celtic and classical music, to create a complex
and inventive sound. Participants will come away with a fresh
perspective on the music they play and teach, and ideas on
how they can integrate a variety of influences in their
own music.
