Teaching Political Dialogue to Artists: Building
Classroom Community

Post-Election
7 Haviland Street, Room 310

This session is designed to offer educators tools and
strategies to manage difficult classroom discussions related
to race, hate, and intolerance. Since the presidential election,
students across the nation are looking for space to discuss
and reflect on the world. Whether students are elated or
saddened by the outcome, we need to encourage them

to find their voice. Musicians and performing artists have a
unique opportunity to expand the conversation through their
artistry. Please join us in the conversation, and learn valuable
resources to encourage, engage, and explore this topic with
your students while continuing to build a safe and inclusive
classroom community.
