1140 Boylston Street, Room 2E
Pete Egoscue, an anatomical physiologist since 1978, is
the creator of the Egoscue Method for safe, effective, and
permanent relief from chronic pain without prescription
painkillers or invasive surgery. This session will provide a brief
overview of the Egoscue Method—its history, how it works,
and who can benefit from it—then lead participants through
a prepared exercise routine addressing the postural position
and alignment of the shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles.
Demonstrations for instrumentalists and vocalists will also be
given, followed by a Q&A and group discussion. This session
will include a 15-minute exercise component. Although
the exercise is not rigorous and will be inclusive of all,
participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing in order
to work with the exercises freely. Sneakers or soft, bendable
shoes are recommended.
