12 Concurrent Session |l The Egoscue Method: Exercise Therapy for Music-Related Issues 1140 Boylston Street, Room 2E Pete Egoscue, an anatomical physiologist since 1978, is the creator of the Egoscue Method for safe, effective, and permanent relief from chronic pain without prescription painkillers or invasive surgery. This session will provide a brief overview of the Egoscue Method—its history, how it works, and who can benefit from it—then lead participants through a prepared exercise routine addressing the postural position and alignment of the shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles. Demonstrations for instrumentalists and vocalists will also be given, followed by a Q&A and group discussion. This session will include a 15-minute exercise component. Although the exercise is not rigorous and will be inclusive of all, participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing in order to work with the exercises freely.
