David Friend Recital Hall Concerts

April 29, 4:00pm- Progressive Rock Ensemble directed by Jon Finn

April 29, 7:30pm- Sin Wagon — Berklee’s Country Music Ensemble performs coun-
try tunes from yesterday and today by Toby Keith, The Dixie Chicks, patsy Cline
and many others with guest banjo player Dave Hollender.

April 30, 1:00pm- Swinging Strings V - Jazz standards with String Section per-
formed under the direction of Geroge Zonce.

April 30, 2:30pm- Contemporary Christian Ensemble directed by Nancy Morris

April 30, 4:00pm- Caribbean Advanced Small Band with Vocals directed by Win-
ston Maccow

April 30, 7:30pm- The Afro-Pop Ensemble - African Pop music by Femi Kuti, Paul
Simon, Hilife International as well as originals by the ensemble will feature an ex-
ceptionally he:d grooving drum/percussion section under the direction of faculty
member Bob Pilkington.

May 3 - Music of Pat Metheny - Faculty member Winston Maccow presents this
ensemble performing the music of famed guitarist Pat Metheny.

May 4 - Chizuru Gyofu Senior Recital - Percussionist Chizuru Gyofu presents
classical and contemporary music by Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, Piazzolla, Sejourne
and Nobojsa Jovan Zivkovic in marimba transcriptions.

May 5 — 2:00pm - The Back Bay Brass Jazz Orchestra - Ben Elkins leads this
student big band in a program of contemporary arrangements and compositions for
big band with special guest trombonist Chris Dempsey.

May 5 — 5:15pm - Free Buffett Catered by the Soul Patrol — Lawrence Watson
directs his students in various musical styles including compositions by Chaka Khan,
George Benson, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder and others.

May 5 — 4:00pm — Stage Performance Workshop Showcase - Lawrence Watson
directs his students in various musical styles including compositions by Duke
Ellington, George Duke, Prince, Radiohead and others.

May 5 — 7:30pm — Motizzle Fo Shizzle — Celebrating 45 Years of Motown Music
- Lawrence Watson directs his students performing music by Smokey Robinson,
Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, and Ashford and Simpson from 45
years of the Motown recording company.
