Berklee Performance Center Concerts

October 28 - Jazz Vocal Series - Voice department faculty member Maggi Scott
presents a select group of singers to perform jazz standares accompanied by a
trio with Fabian Christian Bausch, bass; Sebastiaan DeKrom, drums and Scott,
piano.

October 30 - Fall Together - The annual Jazz Composition Department concert
will feature works by Professor Emeritus John La Porta and faculty members Ken
Pullig, Bob Pilkington, Marc Rossi, Bruce Thomas, Ted Pease and Phil Wilson in
a variety of settings from small group to large ensemble with La Porta as featured
sololist.

October 31 - Takana’s Sextet & Groovin’Girls/Schwing? - Pianist, composer,
arranger Takana Miyamoto leads her sextet in a program of original jazz and
fusion. In the second half drummer Antonio Sanchez presents an evening of jazz,
Latin and fusion including originals and standards with featured soloists including
Dave Barraza, saxophone, Vincent Borgeaux, and Leo Blanco, piano and
Christian Bausch, and Carlos Sanoja, bass.

November 4 - WindsDay Concert - George Coleman/Ingrid Jensen/Faculty
Brass Ensemble - The annual WindsDay event culminates in this concert
featuring legendary saxophone great George Coleman and his group, Berklee
alum trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, and the Berklee Faculty Brass Ensemble, with
Greg Hopkins, director; Scott DeOgburn, Ken Pullig, Jeff Stout, Ken Cervenka,
trumpets, Tony Lada, Bob pilkington, Tom Plsek, trombones; Marshall Seally,
Horn; Greg Fritze, tuba; Consuelo Candelaria, piano, Dave Clark, bass, Bob
Tamagni, drums.

November 6 - Stardom/Funk Disciples - Student vocalist, composer, arranger
Brian A. Glover presents original and standard Rhythm & Blues and soul music
for large ensemble. Then Astutomo Ishigaki and the “Funk Disciples” perform
Funk and Rhythm & Blues by James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway,
Larry Graham, Marvin Gaye and others.
