March 6 - Piano Department Faculty Concert - The Piano Week faculty concert
presents Robert Christopherson leading his trio, with Gregg Holt, bass and faculty
member John Ramsey, drums. Then Makoto Takenaka and his quartet perform
originals and standards in a variety of styles and themes.

March 7 - Lunatique Fringe Orchestra/Fabian Bausch’s Time Design - Com-
poser/arranger Luna Uehara presents original compositions for jazz Orchestra. In the
second half, bassist Fabian Bausch offers original music in a variety of styles for
quartet.

March 11 - Hal Crook Jazz Trio with Mick Goodrick and Paul Motion -
Co-sponsored by a jazz performance grant from the National Endowment for the
Arts, this concert presents original music by trombonist Hal Crook for trio featuring
guitarist Mick Goodrick, drummer Paul Motian and Crook on trombone with digital
5-voice harmonizer.

March 12 - Workprint/Magic Worlds- Original compositions for jazz sextet will
be presented by saxophonist Ryan Shore. In the second half, trumpet plaer/
composer Achim Roghe is presenting his extended composition “Magic Worlds,” for
large jazz ensemble combining elements from classical music and jazz.

March 14 - Heart & Fire - Faculty trumpeter Wayne Naus presents Latin jazz
originals for sextet with special guest faculty member Oscar Stagnaro, bass.

March 25 - Clarinets and Friends - The evening will feature music by faculty
members Arthur Wellwood, and Matt Marvuglio, performed by woodwind faculty
Peter Cokkinias, clarinets, Matt Marvuglio, flutes and synthesizer, Felice Pomerantz,
harp and a string ensemble conducted by Arthur Wellwood.

March 26 - On Maintenance and Still Holding - Voice department faculty
member Jan Shapiro presents an eclectic program of jazz and pop/R&B music
including two arrangements by faculty arranger Richard Evans. Compositions by
Tadd Dameron, George Gershwin, Thelonious Monk, Gino Vannelli, Debarge and
Rod Temperton performed by a variety of ensembles including faculty members
Bob Stoloff, drums, Bobby Rogers, guitar, Larry Monroe, saxophone, Ken Cervenka,
trumpet, Bob Pilkington, trombone and others.

March 27 - Rock Arranging Live! - This annual concert highlights the best music
written by some of the most talented student songwriters and arrangers. The concert
will present variety of original compositions as well as new arrangements of
standard rock/pop repertoire and performance with sequencers and pre-recorded
materials. Featured performers include Carita Boronska, Maria Kourou and Alex
Meletiou.
