Berklee Performance Center Concerts
February 13 - A Special Valentine’s Show/Tribute to Danny Gatton - Music
Synthesis dpeartment faculty member vocalist/guitaritst Kai Turnbull presents
original pop and funk compositions and arrangements performed by his 7-piece
group. Then faculty guitarists Mike Ihde and Bob Stanton present a tribute to the
late guitar legend, Danny Gatton. They will recreate the set of blues, country, jazz
and Latin tunes that Gatton played at the Berklee Performance Center during the
William Leavitt Memorial Scholarship Concert.
February 15 - Kris Adams Quintet with Special Guest Harvie Swartz - Faculty
vocalist Kris Adams presents a program of jazz compositions by Cole Porter, Fats
Waller, Van Huesen-Burke, Billy Holiday, Bill Evans, and A. C. Jobim as well as
originals by Rob Levit and Bevan Manson. Special guest bassist Harvie Swartz will
be joined by faculty saxophonist Greg Badolato, Bevan Manson, piano and Jack
Diefendorf, drums.
February 20 - Jonathan Butler - As part of Berklee’s Balck Music Celebration,
Guitarist/Vocalist Jonathan Butler and bassist Bagito Kumalo will be joined by a
student vocalists, horn section and rhythm in a performance of original contempo-
rary pop, soul and jazz.
February 21 Blues Azteca/Illusions - Original jazz compositions by group members
Alejandro Mercado, Antonio Gandia and leader Beto Hale will be performed by the
Beto Hale Group with special guests Kim Bock, saxophones, Eunice Echegarary,
voice and faculty member Jon Hazilla, drums. Then guitarist Antohny Fesmire and
his quartet present orignal contemporary jazz-rock music with featured soloists
Fesmire, Takehiko Murikami, keyboards, Hiroyuuki Hanada, bass and Chris
Yeoman, drums.
February 22 - What Good Is A Song? The Route to the Roots
As part of Berklee's Balck Music Celebration, Associate Professor Larry Watson
presents Berklee faculty, students, and alumnus, as well as special guests from the
Boston area, performing original compositions and the best in Gospel, jazz, Spiritu-
als and popular contemporary music.
The Performance Center at Berklee College of Music is a Ticketmaster outlet.
