February 21 Ofer Ganor Trio/Big Music - Guitarist Ofer Ganor presents a concert
of jazz guitar trio in the tradition of the piano trios of Oscar Peterson and Ahmad
Jamal performing original arrangements of standards. Int he second half drummer
Andrew Sanesi and his quintet perform jazz by John Abercrombie, Mark Johnson
and Peter Nylander.

February 22 Write of Spring The Jazz Composition Department's annual spring
concert will debut new compositions by faculty composers Scott Free, Jeff Friedman,
James Kachulis, Dick Lowell, Jackson Schultz and Bill Scism. Instrumentation ranges
from small ensemble to extended big band with featured soloists including faculty
members Greg Badolato, sax, Matt Marvuglio, flute, Greg Hopkins, trumpet, Phil
Wilson, trombone, Bob Patton, saxes, Bruce Thomas, keyboards and Joe Hunt,
drums.

February 23 The Real Swing Thing-A Tribute to the Great Swing Era Big Bands
with Roy Hargrove

Music from the big band libraries of Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie, Thad Jones, Ray
Noble, Duke Ellington, will be offered by a band under the direction of Performance
Studies Chair Jackie Beard and student arranger, Kendrick Oliver. Guest performers
and featured soloists include alumnus Roy Hargrove, faculty members Billy Pierce,
Andy McGhee, Jackie Beard, Richard Evans, as well as students John Lamkin I and
Teodross Avery with arrangements by Kendrick Oliver, and faculty members Richard
Evans, Ted Pease, and Hal Crook.

February 27 Bass Department Student Concert - Duos, trios, quartets and more
featuring the bass in traditional jazz, funk and fusion styles will be performed by
student bassists under the direction of department chair Rich Appleman.

The February 28 Faculty (at large) Composers Concert This concert is the sixth
of an eight concert series showcasing the talents of Berklee's faculty composers. Of
the more than fifty composers being represented in the series, the composers
represented on February 28 will be Richard Boulanger, Yumiko Matsuoka, Warrick
Carter, Ken Pullig, Ted Pease, Barrie Nettles, Garrison Fewell, Steve Rochinski,
Bruno Riberg, Wayne Naus, Russell Hoffmann, and Darrell Katz. In this concert
over fifty performers will be performing in over ten different ensembles

March 2 Stravinsky, Ravel & Satie; Songs of Our Century - Faculty members
soprano Robin Ginenthal, pianist Louis Stewart and conductor David Callahan offer
and evening of chamber works by Igor Stravinsky and Maurice Ravel including
Stravinsky's Balmont songs and Ravel's Mallarmé songs. Piano and vocal music of
Eric Satie and Ravel will also be performed.
