or dancing. The first two hornpipe tunes are featured on his
recording Farewell New England’s Shores. Musicians are asked to
play the Coolin wherever they may be in Ireland. In the Flute and
Dance, the power and grace of music and dance are brought
together in their traditional form. The blend of intricate dance
patterns with lively flute music brings the evening’s program to
an exciting finish.
Skip Healy is widely regarded as one of America’s finest Irish
flute and American fife players. His style of playing is both
traditional and contemporary, breathing new life into a wide
repertoire of music. Granted the title Master Musician for the
State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island State Council for the
Arts, he now has a fife-making shop in the City of Providence.
Along with an active performance schedule, Mr. Healy teaches,
lectures, and has released many recordings of traditional flute and
fife music. ’

the Michael Smith School of Irish Dance. An East-coast champion
step-dancer, Ms. Greenway has qualified twice for the World
Championships in Ireland, Senior Ladies” Division.

who has founded dance academies on both the East and West
Coasts of the United States.
