Berklee Performance Center Concerts



September 19 A Program of Contemporary Songs - Composition Department
Chair Jack Jarrett presents an evening of music for voice, piano and clarinet by
himself and faculty composers John Bavicchi, Dennis LeClaire and Thomas McGah
as well guest composer Jeffrey Bishop. These pieces, many of them premieres and
drawn from sources such as e.e. cummings, Conrad Aiken, D.H. Lawrence and
Heinrich Heine, will be performed by soprano Kathryn Wright with faculty member
Peter Cokkinias, clarinet, and Jack Jarrett, piano.

September 21 A Tribute to Jim Chapin - Drumming great Jim Chapin will be
honored by various Berklee students and faculty performing works directly related
to his immense influence; Percussion Department Chair Dean Anderson will present
Mr. Chapin a special recognition award on behalf of the college. Faculty performers
include Joe Hunt, drums, Victor Mendoza, vibes, Sa Davis, hand percussion, and
Bob Stoloff, voice.

September 22 Faculty Composition Concert - Greg Fritze, Assistant Chair of
the Composition Department, presents compositons in a variety of instrumental
settings by faculty members Dennis LeClaire, Donald McDonnell, Stephanie Tiernan,
and Louis Stewart. Featured performers include faculty members Marti Epstein,
piano, Brass Department Chair Tom Plsek, and Phil Wilson, trombones and the
Arlington-Belmont Chamber Chorus under the direction of John Bavicchi, Louis
Stewart, conducting, with Composition Department Chair, Jack Jarrett on MIDI
trigger.
