Berklee Performance Center Concerts
April 21 The Berklee Concert Jazz Orchestra—Renowned faculty
trumpeter, arranger, composer Herb Pomeroy leads the most prestigious ensemble
in the college in a program of contemporary big band music.
April 25 Oh Lord, You Take Control—Ensemble Department faculty
member Dennis Montgomery III directs Berklee's Reverence Gospel Ensemble in a
program of traditional and contemporary gospel music featuring arrangements by
Donald Lawrence, James Moore, Dennis Montgomery, and others will be performed.
April 28 Singers’ Showcase—In its 11th year, the Performance Division's
Yo Team Productions presents Singers’ Showcase. This presentation will feature nine
of Berklee’s finest vocalists including Jonathan Royal, LaQuinta Brown, Joe Freel,
Elizabeth Withers, Stefanie Kelly, Deanna Dellacioppa, Myron Davis, Angela Perry,
and Megan Gass performing the music of Stevie Wonder, Patti LaBelle, Oleta Adams,
Joe Cocker, Toni Braxton, Shawn Colvin, and many others in a variety of instrumen-
tal settings and arrangements written especially for this event.
May 2 The Concert Choir/Musical Theater Scenes - The Berklee
Concert Choir, under the direction of Voice department faculty member Anne
Peckham, will perform Maurice Duruflé’s Reguiem , written for choir, orchestra and
organ in 1947. Student soloists Brian Hicks Lucas and Lisa Donahey will be featured.
In the second half the Musical Theater workshop, under the direction of Anne
Peckham and Sharon, Brown will present scenes from musicals such as Music Man,
A Little Night Music, Company, Carousel, Pogy and Bess, Les Miserables and Any-
thing Goes. Faculty member Wayne Ward will accompany on piano.
May 5 String Department Spring Concert- Fine Times at Our House -
String department students and faculty, undert he direction of department chair Matt
Glaser, perform jazz, classical and folk music in settings ragning from chamber
orchestra, string quartet and small jazz group with special guest Drew Trettick on
Zeta MIDI Violin Synthesizer.
