Berklee Performance Center Concerts

FALL 1992

COUNTRY NIGHT—In it’s 8th year, Berklee’s Country Ensemble
presents their annual showdown. Featured performers include David
Bach, Matt Jackson, Camille Trei, and Earl Pughe as well as Perfor-
mance Studies Department faculty guests Bob Stanton on guitar and
Jennifer E. Terry on vocals, performing the music of such artists as
Trisha Yearwood, John Hiatt, Holly Dunn, and many others.

MY MIND’S MADE UP—Berklee’s Reverence Gospel Ensemble,
under the direction of faculty member Dennis Montgomery III, as-
sisted by Ensemble Department Chair Orville Wright, presents an
evening of contemporary and traditional gospel compositions by
Montgomery, Darius Brooks, Percy Bady, Carol Antrom, James Moore,
and Gerald Thompson.

THE BERKLEE CONCERT JAZZ ORCHESTRA—Renowned faculty
trumpeter/composer/arranger Herb Pomeroy leads the most presti-
gious ensemble in the college in a program of contemporary big band
music.

THE BERKLEE VOCAL JAZZ ENSEMBLE/THE CONCERT CHOIR—
Voice Department faculty member Art LaPierre directs two of
Berklee’s ensembles performing jazz compositions by Basie, Berlin,
Lambert, Hendricks, and Ross, and others arranged for jazz choir and
rhythm section. In the second half, the 40-voice Concert Choir, under
the direction of faculty member Anne Peckham, will perform the
seven movement work “Requiem” by British composer John Rutter.
The choir will perform with orchestra and will feature soprano Re-
becca Carbino as a soloist.

AN EVENING WITH THE BERKLEE RAINBOW BAND—Faculty
composer/arranger/trombonist Phil Wilson presents the Berklee
Rainbow Band playing original jazz and fusion compositions.

TAKIN’ CARE OF BUSINESS #148: A TRIBUTE TO MEMPHIS AND
MOTOWN—Berklee’s Jazz-Rock Ensemble, under the direction of
Performance Studies Chair Rob Rose and faculty member Ken
Zambello, with Yo Team Productions, marks their 20th year with a
concert presenting a variety of songs in a tribute program to Motown
and Memphis.
