SPRING 1991

March 4 IDEAL SYMMETRY/E.T. AT THE B.P.C.—Keyboardist Michael
Ricchiuti presents his quintet performing original jazz fusion composi-
tions. In the second half, an eight-piece ensemble led by pianist/
composer/arranger Eduardo Tancredi performs original Latin music
from Uruguay with a special appearance of a ten-member vocal
ensemble.

March5 YOU WON’T FORGET/MANIACAL CHOIR-FOR MIND AND
FEET—Drummer Pavol Kozma begins this concert with original new
age jazz fusion performed by his quintet with guest vocalist Grazyna
Auguscik. Then, bassist David Rosenthal presents original funky,
African, Middle Eastern, experimental rock performed by his quartet.

March 6 ONE FOR THE MONEY—Commercial Arranging Department Chair
Bob Freedman presents arrangements by department faculty members
of rock and pop songs composed by Berklee students performed by a
twelve-piece band of faculty and students.

March 7 IT°S BLUES TIME/THE BACK BAY BRASS JAZZ ORCHESTRA—
Faculty guitarist Mike Williams performs blues and r & b originals and
compositions by Freddie King, Albert Collins, T-Bone Walker, and
others with his quartet. In the second half, faculty trombonist Ben
Elkins directs the Back Bay Brass in a program of big band jazz
arrangements by Thad Jones, Rob McConnell, and Elkins.

March 11 METAL SHOP—Faculty guitarists Bob Stanton and Joe Finn present
an evening of student groups performing rock and heavy metal tunes
by AC/DC, Van Halen, the Scorpions, Stryper, Aerosmith, Extreme,
and others, as well as some original compositions.

March 13 TOM COSTER AND FRIENDS—Faculty artist-in-residence
keyboardist Tom Coster presents original jazz fusion for keyboards
and rhythm section with special guests Torsten de Winkel, guitar, and
Paula Cole, vocals.
