PIANO DEPAR’I’MENT STUDENT CONCERT———Student pnamsts under

the direction of Department Chairman Paul Schmeling perform jazz
and classical music in a varrety of small group settings.

TRIBUTE TO SARAH VAUGHAN—Ensemble Department Chairman
Orville Wright, as part of Berklee’s Black History Month celebration,
directs student vocalists Grazyna Auguscik, Lynette Carr, Cynthia
Felton, Holly Palmer, Jill Seifers, and Dawn Woullard performmg jazz
standards recorded by the Iate jazz vocahst Sarah Vaughan.

IDEAL SYMMETRY/E.T AT THE B.P.C. —Keyboardist Michael
Ricchiuti presents his quintet performing original jazz fusion composi-
tions. In the second half, an eight-piece ensemble led by pianist/
composer/arranger Eduardo Tancredi performs original Latin music

YOU WON'T FORGET/MANIACAL CHOIR—FOR MIND AND
FEET—Drummer Pavol Kozma begins this concert with original new

African, Middle Eastem experrmental rock performed by his qQuartet.

Bob Freedman presents arrangements by department faculty members
of rock and pop songs composed by Berklee students performed by a

- twelve-piece band of faculty and students

IT’S BLUES TIME/ 'I'HE BACK BAY BRASS JAZZ ORCHESTRA—

Faculty guitarist Mike Williams performs blues and r & b originals and

compositions by Freddie King, Albert Collins, T-Bone Walker, and
others with his quartet. In the second half, faculty trombomst Ben
Elkins directs the Back Bay Brass in a program of big band jazz
arrangements by Thad Jones Rob McConnell and Elkins.
