Berklee Performance Center Concerts
FALL 1990

FALL TOGETHER—The Jazz Composition Department,
under the direction of Chairman Ken Pullig and faculty coordi-
nator Bob Pilkington, present their annual showcase of depart-
ment composers including Ted Pease, Ken Pullig, Greg Hopkins,
Bob Pilkington, Bruce Thomas, Phil Wilson and Scott Free per-
formed by an all-star faculty ensemble including saxophonists
Bill Pierce and Greg Badolato, trumpeter Greg Hopkins and
tubist Greg Fritze.

MOVING VILLAGE/THE CHRISTIAN ROVER GROUP —
Composer and synthesist Scott Kinsey presents original electric
jazz-funk for his quartet to open this two-part concert. In the
second half, guitarist Christian Rover leads his sextet in a program
of contemporary originals.

THE FREE MUSKETEERS/DO YOU TAKE IT PERSONALLY?—
Saxophonist Saul Cline opens this concert with a wide variety

of free, melodic, modern and straight-ahead jazz arrangements of
compositions by Thelonious Monk, Ornette Coleman, Keith Jarrett
and Thad Jones performed by his quartet. In the second half, key-
boardist and composer Phil Moehrke leads his septet in original
Latin jazz and jazz fusion with faculty vibraphonist Victor Mendoza.

I'WANNA PLAY FOR YOU— Bassist Richard Goods presents
original arrangements of a mixture of jazz and rhythm and blues
compositions by Dianne Reeves, Stanley Clarke, Melba Moore and
others performed by a ten-picce ensemble including faculty
vocalist and saxophonist Walter Beasley.
