Berklee Performance Center Concerts

SPRING 1990

DANGEROUS LIAISON/YUKI ARIMASA TRIO—Faculty gui-
tarist Dave Askren leads his five-piece group Dangerous Liaison in a
program of original instrumental rhythm and blues and jazz. In the
second half, original jazz compositions for piano solo and trio will
be presented by faculty pianist Yuki Arimasa.

IT DON'T MEAN A THANG IF IT DON’T SPANGALANG/TALE
OF THE HARLEQUIN—Senior drummer Hans Schuman presents
the music of Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter, Cedar Walton and
others performed by his trio with special guests Berklee alumnus
pianist Geoff Kezzer and trumpeter Kenny Rampton. In the second
half, pianist Christophe Tiberghiem presents a multimedia improvi-
sation of the theme of the Harlequin. Centering on original jazz for
trio, the performance will include dancers and short narrations.

HOLIDAY BASH/THE BIG BANG—Original progressive
pop/rock songs will be performed by faculty guitarist/vocalist
Craig Hlady and his four-piece group. Then, faculty guitarist

Jon Finn presents instrumental rock performed by his trio with
faculty members bassist Joe Santerre and drummer Rick Considine.

HUGH MASEKELA —As part of Berklee’s Black Music Celebra-
tion, famed trumpeter Hugh Masekela presents his special blend
of African and American music performed by his band including
Berklee alumnus drummer Damon Due White.
