Berklee Performance Center Concerts
FALL 1989
SINGERS SHOWCASE—Some of Berklee’s finest vocalists join
together for a varied concert of arrangements written especially
for this event in a variety of styles under the direction of Perform-
ance Studies Department faculty member Ken Zambello, in
conjunction with Yo Team Productions.
NEW YORK VOICES —Darmon Meader, Peter Eldridge,
Kim Nazarian, Sara Krieger and Caprice Fox comprise the group
New York Voices, an ensemble performing in styles spanning the
whole spectrum of vocal jazz. They will be appearing as part of a
special visit to Berklee that includes a clinic and master class
with vocal students.
TAKIN’ CARE OF BUSINESS 101.3—THE JAZZ ROCK
ENSEMBLE GETS HORNY — Performance Studies faculty mem-
ber Ken Zambello and Chairman Rob Rose, in conjunction with
Yo Team Productions, present the Berklee Jazz-Rock Ensemble in
a tribute to horn-section-oriented bands such as Earth, Wind and
Fire, Tower of Power, Chicago and Blood, Sweat and Tears. Fea-
tured vocalists include Lalah Hathaway, Trina Hamlin, Jeff Ramsey
and Scott Eggert.
IN A LIFETIME— Voice Department Chairman Kenneth
Greenhouse conducts a concert of his vocal arrangements
and original works featuring the forty-voice College Singers,
twenty-six instrumentalists and guest baritone soloist
S. Mark Aliapoulios. Arrangements of songs by theater and film
composers Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Dave Grusin
and others will be featured along with Greenhouse’s String
Quintet and Boston premieres of his Variations For Brass Choir
and a choral composition entitled In a Lifetime. Guest faculty
artists include Greg Hopkins, Susan Fleet, Ken Pullig, Jeff Stout,
Dennis Leclaire, Fred Schmidt, Bob Pilkington, Greg Fritze,
Lucile Holstedt, Russ Hoffmann, Wayne Ward, Bob Stoloff,
Victor Mendoza, Greg Badolato, Scott Free, Barry Smith,
Leslie Svilokos and Bob Zung.
