NEW ROADS
The Blues Meets the Cello
Looking forward and looking backwards. In this 5-track collection entitled "New
Roads", cellist-singer Scott Peters first looks backwards while tracing the
evolution of the blues sound through time and space. Then, he looks forward by
interpreting those sounds on an instrument that the blues has never met before.
With textures ranging from the one-man solitude of the Mississippi Delta to the
energetic live band atmosphere of Chicago and London, Peters' combines his
arrangements of the classics with stylistic originals to give a glimpse of the
potential of the blues cello.
TRACK LISTING
"Holy Again"
(Peters)
"Police Dog Blues"
(Blind Blake/trad.)
"Last Goodbye"

"If I Had Possession Over Judgment Day" (R. Johnson/W. Newbern)
