Berklee Performance Center Concerts

November 3 - E Pluribus Groovus: The Lone Arrangers’ Millen-
nium-ending Sojourn- The Contemporary Writing and Production
Department faculty showcase their compositions and arrange-
ments in a veritable potpourri of musical styles. The annual
concert will feature many of Berklee’'s renowned faculty, as well
as guest artists, internationally- known drummer and percussion-
ist Steve Houghton, faculty saxophonist Dino Govoni, and mem-
bers from the vocal group Vox One. CWP Professor Bob Doezema
and Department Chair Jay Kennedy direct.

November 8 - Singers’ Night - Under the direction of Voice depart-
ment Chair Jan Shapiro, specially selected vocal students per-
form student arrangements in a variety of styles.

November 9 - Jazz Vocal Series - Voice department faculty mem-
ber Maggi Scott presents a select group of singers to perform
jazz standards accompanied by a trio. -+

November 10 - Patti Austin - Special guest artist Patti Austin g
performs as part of Voice week activities.

November 17 - An Evening of West African Drum & Dance from
Ghana. - Percussion department faculty Joe Galeota Jr. presents
the Berklee West African Drum & Dance Ensembles performing
music and dance from the Ga, Gargati and Dagbani peoples of
Ghana and Togo. Special guests include Professor David Locke,
w the Kiniwe Ensemble from Tufts University, and Ghanaian
Master Drummer, Emmanuel Agbeli. 3

November 29 - Healing - The Berklee Reverence Gospel En- -
semble, and the small group, Overjoyed, under the direction of '
Dennis Montgomery Il, present an evening of contemporary and &
traditional gospel music composed by Dennis Montgomerey and
David Balfour.
