CONCERTS
Summer 1982

To Momcat Love Pooh — directed by Liz Richardson. “To Momcat
Love Pooh” will be an evening of show tunes from a variety of con-
temporary Broadway shows including Celebration, Company, and
A Chorus Line.

I Never Knew He Could Sing Like Thatl — Vocalist Douglas Cooper
Getschal makes his Performance Center debut with an exciting pro-
gram. Getschal, member of the Berklee faculty, is joined by award-
winning student pianist Makoto Ozone in a musical offering that
should not be missed. &





Advanced Indiscretions — In their return appearance to the Berklee
Performance Center “The Juice”, lead by drummer Rodney Smith, pre-
sents an exciting evening of jazz, rock, funk and fusion. Many original
compositions will be featured.

Together — Student guitarist Masahiro Ojiri is joined by faculty guitar-
ist Larry Baione for an evening of duos and quartet music. Using orig-
inals and standards, the group will cover a variety of mainstream
styles.

Rockin’ 'n Rhythm — Kai Fikentscher and Dave Story lead their Big
Band through a program of originals and jazz standards. Featuring
some of the outstanding student musicians at Berkiee with a book full
of new arrangements, an evening of exciting Big Band music seems
assured.

Pentimento — directed by Larry Monroe. The chain%‘nan of the Per-
formance Department leads a quartet and guests through an evening
of contemporary jazz.

Que Bienl Again — Saxophonist Rodolfo Reyes leads “Los Venados”,
a student/faculty six horn band, through an evening of music that
mixes traditional Latin music with contemporary jazz.

Circuit Breaker — A presentation that features original material writ-
ten by David Barkley and Elmo Ponsdomenech as well as compositions
by Lee Ritenour, Larry Carlton, and others.

The Scott Robinson Concert — One of the area’s most innovative
musicians, faculty woodwindist Scott Robinson, retums with another
program of forward-looking jazz.

An Evening with the Dues Band — directed by Phil Wilson. The Inter-
national Dues Band retums to the Performance Center stage in an
evening of jazz featuring the works of Phil Wilson, Rob McConnell,
Makoto Ozone and others.

An Evening with “C” — Vibraphonist Cecilia Smith leads her group
through an evening’s program of jazz that mixes styles from standards
to funk.
