David Friend Recital Hall Concerts

May 4 — [1:00pm] — Contemporary Urban/
Contemporary Vocal Ensembles - Faculty
member Jetro DaSilva presents his ensemble
with vocals in performance.

May 4 - [2:30pm] - Jazz Summit — Two jazz
ensembles under the direction of David Hol-
lender share this concert. The Music of Wes
Montgomery ensemble performs Montgom-
erty compositions and standards in a quartet
setting. Then another small jazz ensemble
performs music by Parker, Gillespie and
Golsen.

May 4 — [4:00pm] — Music of Charles
Mingus Ensemble - Faculty member Paul Del
Nero presents Berklee’s Music of Charles
Mingus ensemble performing music from the
bassists recordings including Fables of Fau-
bus and Orange Was the Color of her Dress.

May 4 — [7:30pm] — The Music of The Yel-
lowjackets— Faculty member Dave Weigert
presents Berklee’s Yellowjackets ensemble in
performance.

May 5 - [1:00pm| — R&B Vocals Ensemble
- The ensemble performs Rhythm and Blues
under the direction of faculty member Skip

Smith.

May 5 - [2:30pm] — Contemporary Christian
Music Ensemble - Faculty member Nancy
Morris presents an exciting, spirit filled
performance of some of today’s hottest con-
temporary Christian music including tunes
by Steven Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns,
Chris Agnew and many more performed by
the Contemporary Christian Ensemble.

May 5 — [4:00pm| — Music of Motown

- Voice department faculty member Larry
Watson presents his Motown ensemble per-
forming original material and covers of R&B

mance Workshop - Voice department faculty
member Larry Watson presents his class
performing original material and covers of
R&B and soul classics.

May 8 [1:00 pm] — Music Plus — Music

by Woody Shaw, Joe Henderson, Freddie
Hubbard and band members Ayako Higuchi,
Geoffrey Secco and Takashi Sugawa will be
performed by an advanced small band en-
semble under the direction of faculty member
JoAnne Brackeen.

May 8 — [7:30pm] The Berklee String Or-
chestra - The Berklee String Orchestra under
the direction of faculty cellist Eugene Friesen
will present a program of music featuring the
ensemble.
