BERKLEE PERFORMANCE CENTER CONCERTS
SPRING '83

February 17 A DOUBLE CONCERT: BILL HEAGY SEXTET/WAVES OF
DAVES - Pianist Bill Heagy starts off the
evening with a program of jazz originals as well
as standards by Porter, Ellington, Shorter and
others. The second half will feature the high
energy performance of Stephen Rice and his
quintet in a program of original compositions by
members of the group.

February 22 JONES TONES FEATURING THE LOVE JONES ORCHESTRA -
A mix of original contemporary jazz, jazz fusion
and funk featuring the "Love Jones Orchestra"
and special guest trombonist Frank Lacy is
directed by saxophonist David Jones.

February 23 PRIDE OF THE FARM - Faculty guitarist Mike Ihde
and his group, Flat Rats and Sail Cats presents
an evening of original shin kicking, foot
stomping country/rock.

February 24 THE STEVE BAUER BAND - Faculty composer/pianist
Steve Bauer directs a program of straight ahead
jazz featuring one of Berklee's hottest "little"
big bands.

February 28 THE BILLY PIERCE-JAMES WILLIAMS JAZZ ORCHESTRA -
Two of America's premier jazz musicians debut
their 18 piece jazz ensemble. Featuring an array
of faculty players like Andy McGhee, Greg
Hopkins, Tony Lada and Bill Thompson, this is a
"Do Not Miss" event.

Mareh 1 AN EVENING OF AFRO-PERUVIAN JAZZ WITH RICHIE
ZELLON AND FRIENDS -Student guitarist Richie
Zellon presents an exciting evening of Peruvian
jazz featuring the talents of vocalists Mili
Bermejo and Debi Grimsley and flutist Cecilia
Tenconi.
