October 15 - The Beauty of Giving/Thou Must Swing - Pianist Cho Yoon

- Seung presents his trio in an evening of contemporary jazz originals featuring
faculty drummer Casey Scheuerell. Then pianist Milan Milanovic leads his quartet
in contemporary jazz tunes by John Coltrane Joe Henderson, Wynton Marsahs
and Kenny Garrett.

October 16 - Jim McNeely witht he Jason Goldman Jazz Orchestra - As part
of a special Major Residency in the Jazz Composition department, renowned
pianist/composer/arranger Jim McNeely is joined by the big band of Jason
Goldman for an evening of big band jazz. :

October 21 - YB4 & Friends/ 7, 1a vie” - Composer/arranger/saxophonist Yann

Bettremieux presents original compositions on the borders of jazz and funk
combining sophisticated melody and harmonic progressions with heavy grooves
and arranged for five horns. Then guitarist Nicolas Meier presents his quartet and
sextet in an original fusion of jazz-rock and Latin composmons

October 22 - The Firm of Morris, Stinnett, Hgllender & Santerre-Bass k
Department Faculty Concert - Bass department faculty members showcase the
diversity of the department w:th a variety of groups and settings. Danny Morris
presents his quintet playing rock and blues; Jim Stinnett’s Quintet plays jazz
fusion with six string electric bass; Dave Hollender’s trio performs arco acoustic
jazz bass and Joe Santerre’s quartet plays jazz fusion ongnals and a J.S. Bach
composmon

October 23 - Bjgrn Myrholt Quartet/This Time - Drummer Bjgrn Myrholt leads
his quartet in an evening of acoustic jazz with elements from world music and
featuring faculty bassist Josh Davis. Then bassist David Lockeretz presents folk,
pop, jazz and film music performed by his quintet.
