Berkiee Performance CenterConcerts
March 1 — Women’s Music Network - Women’s Music Network - Women Musi-
cians Network presents its 7th annual Showcase faturing the finest female talent
Berklee has to offer to kick-off Women ‘s History Month. Styles include funk,
fusion, soul, samba, rock and electronica. This year’s show is produced by stu-
dents Liz Teutsch and Sandra Zorilla with faculty advisor Lucy Holstedt and spon-
sored by the College Diversity Committee.
March 2 — Piano Department Student Concert — As part of Piano Week activities
the Piano Department presents some of its finest students in an evening of perfor-
mances demonstrating their range and skill. Featured artists include Juan Gomez
Galiardo, lan McGuire, Chris Enright and Roy Assafin trio, quartet and solo set-
tings.
March 3 - All Keys: Piano Department Faculty Concert - Piano Department fac-
ulty concert and accordion fiesta with Ross Ramsay, Bob Winter & Jetro DaSilva,
Dennis Cecere, Matt Jenson Trio, Bruce Thomas, Josh Rosen Trio, Joanne Brackeen
& Stephany Tiernan, Russ Hoffman and others.
March 4 — Toshiko Akyoshi - Renowned Berklee alumnus bandleader/pianist
Toshiko Akiyoshi performs in a trio setting as part of Piano Week activities.
March 9 — Contemporary Writing Production Department Concert - This year,
the annual CWP Student Concert, directed by CWP Faculty member Dan Moretti,
will be a Tribute to Brazilian Composers. Students will write original arrangements
(in varying styles) of master Brazilian composers and songwriters like Antonio Carlos
Jobim, Djavan, Ivan Lins, and many others. The nucleus of the band will be the
DigTrio, including Berklee graduates from Brazil Gustavo Assis Brasil and Mauricio
Zotarelli. The DigTrio recently released their first CD and specialize in a contempo-
rary approach to Brazilian influenced music. The band for the concert will also
include strings, horns and vocalists. All members of the band will be either current
or former Berklee students.
March 10 - Kyoko Satoh Little Jazz Orchestra — Original jazz and standards for
large ensemble will be presented by alto saxophonist/composer/arranger Kyoko
Satoh with special guest trombonist Phil Wilson.
March 11 — Ergonomy Trio /Among Friends — Vocalist Christy Bluhm presents
jazz originals for vocal quartet as well as rhythm section and horns with special
guests Voice department assistant chair Bob Stoloff, faculty members trumpeter
Tiger Okoshi and pianist Mark Shilansky and Syncopation. Then, Guitarist Eren
Gumrukcouglu presents European jazz fusion originals for his trio with Yan Perchuk,
bass and Jordan Perslon, drums.
