2018 Grammy nominee Sara Caswell is fast becoming one of today's foremost jazz
violinists recognized for her technical facility and gift for I?/riusm. Recognized as a
“Rising Star” in the DownBeat Magazine and Readers Polls every year since 2013 and
featured on the cover of the September 2014 issue of Strings Magazine, Sara leads
two groups (the Sara Caswell Quartet and the Caswell Sisters Quintet), has

released two highly-acclaimed CDs (First Song and But Beautiful), and in 201 3
released Alive in the Singing Air with her sister, jazz vocalist Rachel Caswell, featuring
pianist Fred Hersch.

Vocalist Eirini Tornesakiéaka Erini), born and raised in Heraklion, Crete, Greece, is
a versatile artist involved in Jazz, Greek folk and Latin American music. Erini has
Eerformed in Canada, USA, Cuba, Colombia, UA, Cyprus, Greece and most other
U countries with artists including, Bary Manilow, James Bay, Christos Zotos, Mario
Frangoulis, George Garzone, Luciana Souza among others. As a child Erini studied
iano, cello, performed in a string orchestra and a choir. In 2012, she completed a
achelor at BIMM in Brighton, England. Erini was the original singer of the Cirque
Du Soleil show “Kurios”, touring for 3 years, performed on the soundtrack, DVD and
Emmy Award-winning VR short film. Erini sang at Carnegie Hall in 2017. She also
fien‘orms Greek Folk music with the “Pharos Ensemble”"and is a member of the
umanitarian project “Kalesma”, that builds music educational programs for children
in Greece. Erini has been awarded with a full - tuition scholarship to complete a M.M
at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute in Boston.

Vasilis Kostas is a world class laouto player, composer and educator. Born and raised

in Greece, his latest collaboration with legendary clarinetist Petroloukas Halkias

has opened new horizons for the instrument in both the Greek traditional and

iazz worlds. Vasilis has performed at Carnegie Hall, Montreal and Monterey Jazz
estival. He has collaborated with award-winning artists like Simon Shaheen, Tigran

Hamasyan, Shreya Ghoshal and Antonio Serrano to name a few.

The Pletenitsa Balkan Choir (baakancku xop MNaeTeHunua) was founded by
Christiane Karam in 2011, as a means to, ex?lore the choral traditions and folk
music adaptations of the Balkans, the Middle East, the Caucasus, and parts of the
Mediterranean. It includes and welcomes singers from all over the world, and
serves as a platform for cultural exchange, and an opportunity to come together
and celebrate the beauty and spirit that connects us all. The Pletenitsa choir has
performed to rave reviews in Boston and NY and has shared the stage with the likes
of Zulal, Juliana Svetlichnya, Mario Frangoulis, José Mercé, Javier Limon, Vadim
Neselovskyi, Gary Burton, Tigran Hamasyan and Bink

The Berklee World Strings are devoted to the art of ensemble playing and the
development of new music that features improvisation and the rhythmic capabilities
of string instruments and players. Drawing from Celtic, bluegrass, jazz, rock,

and classical styles, the ensemble presents original pro%rams thatinclude new
compositions and arrangements from a wide variety of the world’s music.

Directed by cellist Eugene Friesen, BWS features an international collection of
Berklee’s most accomplished and promising soloists, chamber players and fiddlers
selected by audition.
