Berklee Performance Center Concerts
Fall ‘85

TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS 59'/2 (Red Knuckles & Red Necks)
— Performance Studies Department Chairman Rob Rose, with Yo
Team Productions, presents the Berklee Country Music Band in a con-
cert spanning the many styles of contemporary country music from
southern rock to bluegrass.

BERKLEE FILM FESTIVAL — REEL 8 — An animation extravaganza
featuring films from The Rhode Island School of Design and scored by
Berklee film scoring students will be hosted by Film Scoring Depart-
ment Chairman Don Wilkins.

Double Concert — LONE WOLF/JOHANNES PRISCHL BIG BAND
— Vocalist/ guitarist John Wackler presents his seven piece

“Lone Wolf Band” in a concert of original country and pop music. In
the second half, saxophonist/composer/arranger Johannes Prischl
directs his big band in a program of original contemporary jazz.

THE BERKLEE CONCERT WIND ENSEMBLE — Faculty composer/

tubist Gregory Fritze presents an evening of contemporary 20th Cen- s
tury concert music by Carl Husa, Gustav Holst, facylty member

Matt Marvuglio and others performed by the 45-piece Concert Wind

Ensembile.

CHRISTIAN JACOB AND FRIENDS — Senior pianist Christian Jacob

and an all-star sextet, just back from the “Jazz Festival At Sea” with

Gary Burton, will perform original jazz in a variety of instrumental —
settings from solo to sextet with special guests faculty drummer

Tommy Campbell and Dean of Curriculum vibraphonist Gary Burton.

THE BERKLEE CONCERT JAZZ ORCHESTRA — Famed faculty
composer/arranger Herb Pomeroy directs the College’s most presti-
gious ensemble through a program of big band jazz.

THE BACK BAY BRASS JAZZ ORCHESTRA — Original composi-
tions and arrangements for big band are presented by faculty
composer/arranger/trombonist Ben Elkins.

THE BERKLEE REVERENCE GOSPEL ENSEMBLE — Under the

direction of senior vocalist David Chandler with faculty advisor

Ensemble Department Chairman Orville Wright, the 50-voice Rever- —
ence Gospel Ensemble will perform a spirited mixture of traditional

and contemporary gospel music.

THE ACOUSTIC REVOLUTION — Berklee Commercial Arranging

Department Chairman Bob Freedman brings a medium size ensem-

ble of Berklee faculty and outstanding students to the Performance

Center stage for an evening of original acoustic jazz. =
