Welcome to the seventh annual Berklee Global
Jazz Summit.
This summit explores how improvisation can help humanity face the challenges of the
21st century with lectures that include diverse topics from improvising species to
intercultural dialogue.
Tonight's concert will feature acclaimed Puerto Rican singer Danny Rivera, Berklee
Global Jazz Institute residence artists, Berklee faculty, and special guests from Detroit,
Paris, and Panama.
Students from the Boston campus’ new contemporary performance graduate program
will also be featured and our first BGJI big band will premiere.
Musicians are the guardians of the creative process. Together we can find adventurous
proposals of great pedagogical, artistic, and social significance to live in peace, with
dignity, justice, and freedom.

BGJI Artistic Director
