Berklee Performance Center Concerts

September 28-Jerome Kyles ~ Voice depart-
ment faculty Jerome Kyles sings the songs of
some of his favorite artists backed by a full
rhythm section and brass section. Also fea-
turing an eight voice ensemble.

September 29 - The Mark Shilansky Show: A
Very Special Episode - Mark Shilansky hosts
his annual cavalcade of original music and
special guests in a night filled with jazz, origi-
nal pop and folk music, and humor, in a talk
show/interview format. Special guests this
evening include internationally renowned
jazz tap dancer Josh Hilberman, and Berklee
Faculty Phil Wilson, trombone, Sharon
Broadley-Martin and David Thorne Scott,
voice, and Christine Fawson, trumpet and
voice.

September 30 - Thaddeus Hogarth - Guitar
department faculty member Thaddeus
Hogarth leads his four piece R&B-Funk
ensemble in an evening of original songs
selected from his recent and upcoming
releases.

October 5-Moksha: Return to Inland -
Moksha is an eight piece Berklee faculty
band led by trumpet player/composer Wayne
Naus. The unique instrumentation (electric
trumpet, Viatar, Bass, Synthesiszer,
EitherwayTheremin, Drums, Tenor Sax, Sound
Design and Percussion)combined with origi-
nal computer animation, takes each listener
on their own journey through a landscape of
sight and sound.Faculty members Naus,
trumpet; Michael Farquharson, bass; Joe
Mulholland, synth, theremin; Bob Schlink,
Viatar, Dino Govoni, tenor sax will perform.

October 26-John DeCarlo - John DeCarlo
Berklee College

presents modern jazz and creative music for
quartet. The Girls with the Hair ~ Vocalist
Christine Vaindirlis presents jazz-funk and
fusion covers and originals for a large ensem-
ble.

October 27-Fall Together - Fall Together '04
will be the 20th concert we've presented in
this series which started in 1985. Featured
composers are: Greg Hopkins, Bob
Pilkington, Marc Rossi, Bruce Thomas, Phil
Wilson, and Ken Pullig: Ensemble size will
range from small group to big band and fea-
ture an all-star cast of performers that
includes students, faculty, and staff. The fea-
tured piece of the evening is Ken Pullig's
"Politickle Your Fancy"", a 30-minute jazz

" oratorio that addresses the subject matter of

politics and the presidential election. It will
feature special guest Rebecca Shrimpton who
will be both vocalist and narrator.

November 1-Winds Day Concert

November 2-Ryu Nagata - Guitarist Ryu
Nagata presents original contemporary jazz.
Songs of Peace ~ Saxophonist Michael
Birnbryer presents jazz and world music
adaptations for his quintet.
