David Friend Recital Hall Concerts
November 16 — Tribute to Juan Luis Guerra
- Assistant Bernardo Hernandez has assem-
bled student and professional musicians to
perform popular works by Juan Luis Guerra.
Mr. Guerra will be presented the
Distinguished Alumni Award at this event.
Due to limited seating, the tribute concert
will be a ticketed event. Tickets (free of
charge) are available from the Berklee
Performance Center Box Office starting
Friday, November 12 at 1pm.
November 22- Piano Recital - A recital of
compositions for piano presented by students
of Ed Bedner.
November 23 - Jetro Da Silva and His
Talented Students — Piano department assis-
tant chair Jetro Da Silva presents students in
his Vocal accompaniment and Gospel lab
classes performing gospel, jazz, R&B and
Braoadway repertory.
November 29 - 3:00 p.m. - Country Music
Ensemble - The Berklee Country Music
Ensemble under the direction of faculty gui-
tarist Mike Ihde, performs top country hits as
well as instrumentals in classic country, west-
ern swing, and rockabilly styles.
November 29 - 4:30 p.m. - Reggae/Dub
Ensemble - Faculty member Winston
Maccow presents his student ensemble per-
forming Jamaican Reggae and Dub music.
November 29 - 7:30 p.m. - Brazilian Jazz -
Faculty member Fernando Brandao leads this
student ensemble performing jazz from Brazil
including compositions by Caetano Veloso,
Milton Nascimento and Brandao.
November 30 — 3:00 p.m. - The Music of
Miles Davis — Under the direction of faculty
trumpeter Ken Cervenka, this student ensem-
ble performs the acoustic jazz, Be-bop,
post/hard bop and mainstream compositions

Coleman -The Music of Steve Coleman
ensemble performs under the direction of
faculty guitarist Bob Schlink.
November 30 — 7:00 p.m. — Here We Are —
Melodious fusion compositions by faculty
trumpeter Tiger Okoshi will be performed by
his ensemble.
'December 1 -3:00 p.m. - Contemporary
Fusion - Contemporary fusion ensemble per-
forms under the direction of faculty guitarist
Bob Schlink.
December 1 - 4:30 p.m. - Jazz Ensemble -
Contemporary jazz ensemble performs under
the direction of faculty member Dave
Samuels.
December 1 - 7:30 p.m. - Dance for the
Infanta -- Under the direction of faculty
member Peter Cokkinias, The Berklee
Contemporary Wind Ensemble will perform
music for mixed woodwinds, brass , percus-
sion and strings. Compositions by Ibert,
Milhaud, Rimsky —Korsakov, Bernstein, Flores
Charnis and Cogburn will be performed with
special guests Brenton Marquez, Khari Lee,
Chandra Cogburn, Dorian Charnis and
Marco Flores.
December 2 — 3:00 p.m. - The Music of Jimi
Henrix Ensemble — Under the direction of
faculty member Kenwood Dennard, this
ensemble features the music of Jimi Hendrix,
one of the most important innovators of rock
music. The dynamic arrangements of these
classic rock compositions leave plenty of
space for showcasing the individual self-
expression and creative talent of the stu-
dents.
