April 24
1:00 p.m. The Music of Steve Coleman - Ensemble department faculty member
Bob Schlink leads this ensemble performing the music of Steve Coleman

4:00 p.m. Pop Music Workshop - As part of Ensemble week activities a faculty
panel will discuss careers in Pop Music. e

7:30 p.m, Dave Hollander As part of ensemble week this faculty concert
presents material used in the Wes Montgomery ensembles and will feature
guitar department faculty member Richie Hart with ensemble department faculty
members David Hollender, bass, Marcello Pellitteri, drums and Dennis Montgom-
ery lll, piano.

April 25
1:00 p.m. Ron Mahdi - Rhythm Section Playing Clinic - Clinic on Playing in the
rhythm section presented by faculty bassist Ron Mahdi.

4:00 p.m. Is What It Is - Ensemble department chair Ron Savage presents
original jazz music by group members Woodwind Chair Bill Pierce, saxophone,
ensemble faculty members Consuelo Candelaria, piano, Ron Mahdi, bass and
special guest, Darren Barrett, trumpet.

7:30 p.m. Classic Brass - Brass department faculty member Charles Lewis
presents the Berklee Brass Five-tet and the Wednesday Brass Ensembles
performing classical brass music ranging from Josquin Des Pres to Jan Bach.

Arpril 26

1:00 p.m. Swinging Strings - Ensemble department faculty member George
Zonce presents compositions and arrangements of jazz with strings, conducted
by faculty member August Watters and performed by Berklee's acoustic strings
ensembles.

4:00 p.m. D.D. & th B3's — Ensemble department faculty members Dennis
Cecere, Dennis Montgomery, B3 organs, Bob Schlink, guitar and Dave Weigert
drums, present an afternoon of bebop compositions in a unique setting of 2
B3's, guitar and drums. The three comping instruments, each with their own
charateristics, creates a wall of sound and solid groove.

7:30 p.m. Berklee Marimba Labs - This semester’s Berklee Marimba Concert-
directed by Nancy Zeltsman - will feature performances by two Marimba Perfor-
mance Labs, the Marimba Transcriptions and Repertoire Lab, the Marimba in
Mixed Chamber Music Lab, and Berklee solo marimbists.
