Berklee Performance Center Concerts

Februray 23 — New Music Festival - The second annual New Music Festival will
be held on two nights, and will feature some of the best original music by Berklee
student performers. This first night will feature The Elizabeth Ziman Band, The
Chie Imaizumi Orchestra, Against The Grain(featuring four trombonists), and
Kronrider directed by Ben Maitland. These concerts are sponsored by the Yo
Team and the Student Activities Office.

February 24 — New Music Festival - The second annual New Music Festival will
-feature some of the best original music by Berklee student performers. Tuesday
February 24th will feature Rachel Solomon, Mystiq directed by Cody Geil,
Spectrum directed by lan Rapien, Andrew Douglass, and the group formerly
known as Mass Ave directed by Angela Johnson-Swan.These concerts are
sponsored by the Yo Team and the Student Activities Office.

February 25 — Write of Spring - This concert features original works of Jazz
Composition Department faculty Scott Free, Jeff Friedman, Richard Lowell,
Jackson Schultz and Bill Scism. Also, from the Contemporary Writing and
Production Department, faculty composer Ben Elkins was invited to present his
composition orchestrated for a twenty-piece ensemble. Richard Lowell’s large
ensemble composition will feature the dazzling clarinet work of special guest
performer Dick Johnson.

February 26 — From the Block to the Booth: The Evolution of Hip-Hop: Justin
Hughes & Max Joseph present original Hip Hop for 9 pieces and D tracing the
Hip Hop Scene from 1979 to 2003 including music by RUN DMC, the Sugar Hill
Gang, Grand master Flash, The Furious Five and more.

March 1 — Women’s Music Network - Women’s Music Network - Women
Musicians Network presents its 7th annual Showcase faturing the finest female
talent Berklee has to offer to kick-off Women ‘s History Month. Styles include
funk, fusion, soul, samba, rock and electronica. This year’s show is produced by
students Liz Teutsch and Sandra Zorilla with faculty advisor Lucy Holstedt and
sponsored by the College Diversity Committee.

March 2 — Piano Department Student Concert — As part of Piano Week
activities the Piano Department presents some of its finest students in an
evening of performances demonstrating their range and skill. Featured artists
include Juan Gomez Galiardo, lan McGuire, Chris Enright and Roy Assaf.

March 3 - All Keys: Piano Department Faculty Concert - Piano Department
faculty concert and accordion fiesta with Ross Ramsay, Bob Winter & Jetro
DaSilva, Dennis Cecere, Matt Jenson Trio, Bruce Thomas,Josh Rosen Trio,
Joanne Brackeen & Stephany Tiernan, Russ Hoffman and others.
