October 15 - Mo’ Mo’ Roots - Drummer Brian Butler presents funky raps,
instrumentals and rhythm & blues compositions by James Brown, Otis Redding,
Fred Wesley and Horace Silver.

October 21 - Bass Department Faculty Concert - Bass department faculty
members Danny Morris, Dave Clark, Joe Santerre and Jim Stinnett showcase the
diversity of the department with a variety of groups and settings.

October 27 - Massimo & Friends /The Power of a Trio Plus... - Bassist
Massiimo Bilcati and his trio will perform a mixture of jzz, Latin and Tango with
a touch of film music from Cinema Paradiso. Then pianist Akiko Iwase presents
contemporary jazz compositions by B. Marsalis, M. Miller, and S. Coleman for her
quintet with special guest Dave Barazza.

October 28 - Fall Together - Faculty composers Greg Hopkins, Ted Pease, Bob
Pilkington, Ken Pullig, Marc Rossi, Bruce Thomas, and Phil Wilson will be
featured in this year’s Jazz Compostion Department traditional fall concert, “Fall
Together.” A wide variety of styles and approaches to the art of jazz composition
are included. The music will be performed by a jazz orchestra of faculty players
from across the college.

November 2 - WindsDay Concert - Al Vizzutti/Gary Campbell

November 5 - Contemporary Writing Production - The Contemporary Writing
and Production Department faculty showcase their compositions and arrange-
ments in a veritable potpourri of musical styles including mambo pop, Latin jazz-
rock, bossa fusion, Count Basie style jazz, funk, Calypso, samba Cancao, dra-
matic film score-ish ballad, and world beat gospel. The performers featured
include many of Berklee’s renowned faculty. CWP Professor Bob Doezema and
Department Chair Jay Kennedy direct.

David Friend Recital Hall

October 15 - Bruce Katz Band- Faculty member Bruce Katz performs original
instrumental blues with elements of jazz, gospel, and rock on Hammond B-3 and
piano with his quintet including guitar department faculty member Julien
Kasper, drummer Ralph Rosen, bassist Mark Poniatowski and saxophonist Tom
Hall.

November 5 - Stephany Tiernan - Piano department Assistant Chair Stephany
Tiernan presents contemporary music for piano.

November 9 - Jazz Vocal Series - Student vocalists perform jazz with faculty
rthythm section under the direction of Maggi Scott.
