Berklee Performance Center Concerts
June 29 Metalix - Modern jazz vibraphon-
ist Matthias Lupri and his group with faculty
members acclaimed saxophonist George
Garzone and percussionist Jamey Haddad,
will perform new music from Lupri’s new CD
“Metalix.”
June 30 Faculty Blow-Out - Directed by
Dave Samuels.
July 6 Rebel Tumbao- Bob Marley
inna Latin Vibration — A ground-break-
ing 11-piece band melds the depths of Bob
Marley’s music and message with the depths
of Afro-Cuban arranging delivered by a
dynamic 11 piece band lead by pianist and
arranger Matt Jenson. The group takes some
of Marley’s best and least known works leav-
ing the vocal treatments as they appeared
in the original (in English) and adds enticing
coro/soneo sections and some kicking mam-
bos as well. Rebel Tumbao = Rebel “Latin
Groove”
July 9 Berklee Tower of Power
Ensemble (3:00p.m) - Soul and funk music
of the famed Tower of Power band per-
formed by this 5 horn, 5 vocal and 5 rhythm
ensemble under the direction of faculty
member Wayne Naus.
July 12 Five Week Welcoming Concert:
Radiance - The 5-Week Welcoming con-
cert will feature the Rhythm & Blues group
“Radiance” led by faculty guitarist Sal
DiFusco. The group will feature performanc-
es by 5-week faculty members Wayne Naus
and Joe Santerre as well as Berklee alumni
Daniel McClain, Pat Loomis, Marianne Wells,
Tom Foote and Tom Butterworth.
July 15 World Leaders - Directed by Bob
Sinicrope, sponsored by the five week sum-
mer performance program.

July 19 Instant!Groove with Daryl
Lowery - Daryl Lowery and Instant!Groove
specialize in the funky soul-jazz grooves com-
monly referred to as “acid-jazz.” The group
features faculty member saxophonist Daryl
Lowery, guitarist Rick Peckham, bassist Bruno
Raberg and percussionist Bertram Lehmann
along with T Lavitz on Hammond B3.
July 20 Don Lappin and Scott Tarulli -
Faculty guitarists Scott Tarulli and Don Lappin
take the stage to play original instrumental
rock and fusion from their own CDs.
July 25 Moksha - The eight-piece faculty
group Moksha led by Professor Wayne Naus
performs original music in a Jazz/world/fusion
style. The groups unique instrumentation:
electric trumpet, synthesizer, bass, drums,
percussion, sound design and Viatar, per-
forms a non-stop 70 minute set taking each
listener on a unique journey through a land-
scape of sight and sound.
July 26 The Berklee Rainbow Band -
Berklee's premier Big Band jazz ensemble will
performs under the direction of composer/
arranger/trombonist Phil Wilson.
Aug 2 Five Week Performing
Songwriter Showcase -Faculty vocalist
Kristin Cifelli presents the winners of the
Five Week Summer Performance Program
Performing Songwriter Contest. All styles will
be represented in a variety of instrumental
combinations performed by the songwrit-
ers , with a house band made up of current
Berklee students.

present KYO - Faculty member David
Cowan presents a medium sized band that’s
funkier than 20 pounds of chittlins with
onions and sardines on the side! Now that’s
FUNKY!!!
