Berklee Performance Center Concerts
April 21- Singers Showcase- Berklee’s premiere
vocal event offers a variety of styles and musical
settings for some of the college’s exceptional
singers. The Spring 2005 Singer's Showcase wil
feature the talents of lead vocalists Kamaria
Oulsley, Jeremy Ragsdale, Tiwa Savage, Dawn
Royston, Major" Choirboy" Johnson, Ryan
Pinkston, Jessica Wolfe, Natalie Fernandez, and
Nadine Ford. They will be performing the music
of Destiny's Child, Joni Mitchell, The Jackson
Five, Sarah Brightman, Anikta Baker, Shakira,
and many others.
April 25- Gospel Ensemble-Dennis Berklee
Reverence Gospel Ensemble
An evening of contemporary and traditional
gospel music performed by Berklee's Reverence
Gospel Ensemble directed by faculty member
Dennis Montgomery lll. Berklee's small gospel
ensemble, Overjoyed, will also perform.
April 26- The Berklee Contemporary Wind
Ensemble Rhapsody in Bloom -the
Contemporary Wind Orchestra focuses on con-
temporary compositions by faculty and students
in compendium with pivotal twentieth century
works. The CWO presents a lush orchestral
sound to compliment and bring to life the fine
works of Leos Janacek, Leonard Bernstein, Percy
Grainger and George Gershwin. World premier
performances of works written by Berklee facul-
ty indude those composed by conductor Julius
Williams, with a spedal guest performance by
faculty trumpeter, Christine Fawson. Faculty dar-
inetist, Harry Skoler will feature 2 selections from
his new CD and pianist, Louis Stewart will be
the piano soloist in George Gershwin's
Rhapsody In Blue and a suite for orchestra and
winds by composer and hornist Dennis LeClaire.
One student composition, written by Dorian
Charnis will also make its debut in the concert
entitled, Rhapsody In Bloom. Student conductor
Windy Setiadi will conduct Graingers Irish Tune
from County Derry.

music for Big Band will be performed under the
direction of faculty composer/arranger/trumpeter
Greg Hopkins.
April 28- Chord Scale/Urban Outreach Jazz
Orchestra - Under the direction of Jazz
Composition department faculty member
Jackson Schultz, some of the strongest student
arrangements from the "Voidngs Derived from
Chord Scales" course will be performed by a
large ensemble. Then Ensemble department fac-
ulty member Lin Biviano presents big band jazz
in the style of the Count Basie, Woody Herman,
Maynard Ferguson and Buddy Rich Bands.
