Musician’s Take on Investing for Retirement

Although the number of options can seem overwhelming,
devising a workable strategy for saving and investing for
retirement can be less stressful if we understand a few basic
concepts, know where to look for information, and learn to
tune out the noise that's constantly bombarding us. In this
session, we will cover basic ways to formulate and implement
a long-term plan for building and growing our retirement
nest eggs. Yes, even a musician can do it!

'80s R&B Music: The Beginning of Change in

Black Music

This session will discuss and analyze trends and changes

to R&B music during the 1980s (adult contemporary, rock,
electrofunk, synthesized R&B, pop, and the beginning of
urban R&B known as new jack swing). We will examine
production styles from the East Coast (Marcus Miller, Luther
Vandross, Kashif, Paul Laurence), the West Coast (Quincy
Jones, Patrice Rushen), and the Midwest (Prince, Jimmy Jam,
Terry Lewis).
