Berklee Performance Center Concerts

March 25 - Ear Training Department Presents ....Mitch Seidman and Mark
Shilansky - Ear Training department faculty guitarist Mitch Seidman performs
originals and jazz standards with his trio featuring Charlie Kohlhase on alto and
baritone saxophone, and faculty member Jeff Galindo on trombone. Then faculty
pianist, vocalist and composer Mark Shilansky performs original jazz-pop influ-
enced compositions supported by a standard rhythm section and background
vocalists.

March 29- The Berklee Concert Jazz Orchestra - Under the direction of faculty
composer/arranger/trumpter Greg Hopkins, the Concert Jazz Orchestra features
the finest instrumentalsts in the college playing original music written expressly
for the group by talented student and faculty writers. This concert features music
composed by: Javier Rodriquez, Pablo Ablanado, Abe Rabade, Jan Larson, Cirilo
Fernandez, Joanne Brackeen And Mehmet Sanlikol. Featured performers are:
Patrick Cornielius, Nick Vagenus, Matthius Murhagan, Jesus Santandreiu, Mike
Showb, Avishai Cohen, Guillermo Montero, Massimo Biolcati, Milan Milanovich,
and Kendrick Scott.

March 30- Percussion Unlimited - Department Chair Dean Anderson will again
direct the Berklee College of Music Percussion Ensemble in works by John Cage,
Steve Reich, and Gordon Stout. Mr. Stout, our Visiting Artist, will be performing
numerous solo marimba works in addition to performing with the Berklee College
of Music Percussion Ensemble in his own composition for 11 percussionists. This
concert marks the 26th annual production of Percussion Unlimited. This concert
is sponsored by Malletech, Inc., and Avedis Zildjian Company.

March 31- Tribute to Tito Puente - Directed by vibist Victor Mendoza, Berklee’s
top Latin ensemble will feature music from the ambassador of Latin music, Tito
Puente. Host, drummer and Berklee faculty member Bobby Sanabria, will highlight
Tito’s life via an in-depth historical perspective of this giant of Latin music via an
extensive slide presentation of Tito's life. This collection of prized photos is
contributed especially to this event by Martin Cohen, President of Latin Percus-
sion Music Group, Inc. Many of Berklee’s famed hand percussion faculty will be
featured in performance during this sizzling Tribute to the one and only, Tito
Puente. This concert is sponsored by Latin Percussion Music Group, Inc. and
Sabian, Inc

April 1 - Jeff Hamilton - Greg Hopkins will lead the Berklee Buddy Rich Big Band in
a night of big band music arranged and performed by noted Los Angeles drumset
artist, Jeff Hamilton. Jeff Hamilton is one of the most acclaimed west coast jazz
musicians, and will perform in trio and big band format. This concert is spon-
sored by Remo, Inc., Regal Tip, Inc., and Avedis Zildjian Company.
