February 25 - The Larry Baione Quartet - Guitar Department Chair Larry
Baione is joined by Associate Vice President for International Programs, alto
saxophonist Larry Monroe, Assistant Chair of the Bass Department John Repucci
and Acting Assistant Chair of the Percussion Department , Ron Saveage for an
evening of straight ahead jazz originals and compositions by Duke Ellington, Bud
Powell and Hank Mobley.

February 26 - Anat Cohen Quintet - Senior saxophonist Anat Cohen leads her
Quintet through a program of jazz standards and compositions by Bud Powell
and Thelonious Monk.

March 2 Janus - A two-piano concert featuring students Ivana Lisak and Yoon-
Seung Cho in a program of contemporary music by Stravinsky and Messiaen
followed by contemporary jazz originals.

March 9 - Nordic Voices - Stambandet, The Scandinavia Vocal Ensemlbe
directed by faculty member Allen LeVines features sixteen accomplished singers
performing the vocal traditions of Iceland, Normway and Sweden. With six and
seven part harmonies sung in three langueages, the group performs a wide range
of folk traditions including "trall"--singers imitating fiddlers playing dance music.

Berklee Performance Center

February 25 - Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts Big Band - During a
week long visit to Berklee, this premiere jazz ensemble from one of the leading
arts high schools in the world will be performing a program of big band jazz.
Under the direction of Berklee Alum Yossi Regev, a number of students from this
band have gone on to attend Berklee.

February 26 - Kendrick Oliver & The New Life Jazz Orchestra featuring
Nicholas Paytonwith a special guest appearance by Roy Hargrove*
Special guest trumpeters Nicholas Payton and Roy Hargrove join Kendrick Oliver
directing the New Life Jazz Orchestra in a program of big band jazz. * Roy
Hargrove will be performing with his own group at Scullers Jazz Club at the
Double Tree Guest Suites Hotel on February 27 and 28, 1998. Berklee students
will receive a $5.00 discount with valid 1.D. on February 27 at 10:30pm.

March 3- WMN - Women Musicians Network presents WMN,

Sponsored by the College Diversity Committee. Students Ivanne Deneroff and
Adrianne Gonzalesm, with faculty member Lucy Holstedt and Student Activities
Director Jane Stachowiak, have arranged eleven women acts representing
diverse styles including alternate rock, folk, jazz, R & B, spiritual, and pop and
diverse religious and ethnic cultures from Central America, Israel, and Canada.
The sixth concert of its type makes its BPC premiere kicking off March celebra-
tions of Women's History Month at Berklee.
