SUMMER 1992

BASEMENT MEMOIRS: THE PREVIEW—Faculty guitarist Mashi Hasu
presents a five-piece rock group performing original compositions.

THE BRIDGES—Facutly vocalist Jennifer Terry presents her band the
Bridges performing guitar-oriented rock covers and originals with
Summer Performance Program faculty members Bob Stanton on guitar
and Mike Piehl on drums.

FORWARD MOTION—Faculty pianist Suzanna Sifter presents her trio,
with Richard Hammond on bass and faculty drummer Jon Hazilla,
performing contemporary acoustic jazz standards and originals.

BOB SCHLINK AND THE BALLISTICS featuring the Viotar—Faculty
member Bob Schlink performs with his quintet the Ballistics performing
original rock music and featuring the Viotar, a six-stringed hybrid
instrument tuned and fingered like a guitar and played like a violin.

dertonz—Student vocalist Holly Palmer leads a quartet performing
original alternative groovy rock music.

THE BACK BAY BRASS JAZZ ORCHESTRA—Faculty trombonist/
composer/arranger Ben Elkins directs this 18-piece big band in a pro-
gram of the music of Thad Jones, Stan Kenton, Bill Holman, and others.

FIVE WEEK BLOW OUT: I'M GOING HOME—The Five Week Summer
Performance Program winds up with this concert featuring some of the

program’s best ensembles ranging from small groups to big band and

the Five Week choir. Musical styles will include rock, jazz, and fusion.
