Berklee Performance Center Concerts

October 23 - This Strange Kind of Feeling/ The Return of Majestique Blue
Saxophonist Gilad Ronen presents original music mixing American
musical concepts infused with rhythms form the Middle Eastern world.
Then drummer Kiyoshi Nishiji presents original fusion and World Music
compositions performed by a three-horn, two-voice and five-rhythm
ensemble.

October 29 - Bass Department Faculty Concert- The Bass department
presents faculty members Ron Mahdi, Danny Morris, Barrie Smith
leading their own groups in a variety of styles.

October 30 - Fall Together- The annual fall concert of music by Berklee’s
Jazz Composition Department will feature a diverse collection of styles
and instrumentations performed by a variety of Berklee faculty. This
year’s writers are Ted Pease, Bob Pilkington, Ken Pullig, Marc Rossi,
Bruce Thomas and Phil Wilson.

October 31 - Emir Isilay/ Expansion!! — Pianist Emir Isilay will present a
concert featuring his original contemporary jazz-fusion compositions.
Then pianist Hiromi Uehara presents jazz, funk, fusion and Latin music
with special guests faculty saxophonist Walter Beasley and pianist Oliver
Rockburger.

November 1 — Jerome Kyles/Gabrielle Goodman - Inspirational, jazz and
rhythm and blues styles presented by voice department faculty members.

November 5 — Winds Day 2001
November 8 — Contemporary Writing Production Department Concert

November 13 — Singers Night - Outstanding student vocalists represent-
ing all semester levels will pefform in a variety of styles including jazz,
rock, R&B, country and Latin under the direction of Voice department
chair Jan Shapiro and Assistant Professor Kira Small. The singers will be
backed by a faculty rhythm section.

November 19 — West African‘AMusic & Dance - A night of traditional

Ghanaian music and Afro -pop presented by percussion department
faculty member Joe Galeota.
