Tom Baskett

Codirector

Tom Baskett is well regarded by colleagues and students for his dynamic and caring
promotion of up-and-coming artists. His 30-year professional career includes credits
for numerous international performances and productions in Africa, Asia, Europe,
and the U.S. His singing and speaking voice is heard in national and international
TV, radio, and web-based advertising, as well as popular artists' recordings. Baskett

is a founding member of the globally regarded vocal ensemble Vox One, whose work is taught and
performed at colleges in the U.S. and around the world. At Berklee and in Boston, he mentors, coaches,
and directs students in creating performances which move hearts and inspire social change. A former
pastoral minister, Baskett's teaching promotes spiritual wholeness, aspiration, professional integrity,
and personal integration. His protégés include vocalists appearing on The Voice, American Idol, and The
Sing-Off, as well as productions of Hamilton, The Color Purple, Motown: The Musical, and more.



Kevin Barry

Musical Director

Kevin Barry is one of the most in-demand musicians and studio sessions players

in Boston, New York City, and L.A. He is gifted in moving between musical worlds
and genres such as Americana, country, blues, pop, and jazz. In addition to playing
acoustic and electric guitars, he is a multi-instrumentalist, and has experience on
the lap steel, pedal steel, dobro, bass, as well as unusual instruments such the
high-strung requinto. Barry can be heard on hundreds of recordings, and when he is not touring,

he performs regularly in and around the Boston and New York City areas. He's recorded on film
soundtracks and at the Grammy Awards with Paula Cole. He has television appearances on Saturday
Night Live, Conan O'Brien, Late Night with David Letterman, the Today show, and E/len. Barry is a fixture
of the New England music scene, and has gained the respect of the best musicians around the world.
In addition to his performance schedule, he is an educator and teaches a select few classes at Berklee.
Barry is a member of various groups, including Rosanne Cash, Peter Wolf and the Midnight Travelers,
Paula Cole, The J. Geils band, Marc Cohn, Ray LaMontagne, and the Pariah Dogs. He has performed
and/or recorded with David Crosby, Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Consuelo
Candelaria, and many others.

Tsunenori (Lee) Abe

Arranging Coordinator/Assistant Musical Director

Tsunenori (Lee) Abe, associate professor in the Contemporary Writing and Production
Department, is an active composer, arranger, performer, and producer from Chiba,
Japan. Abe has written music for many types of instrumentation, from solo piano,
pop-rock band, and big band, to world-class orchestras such as the Boston Pops.
While Abe, a winner of the S&R Washington Award as a composer, is versatile in
many genres, his name is especially known in the vocal jazz world. Many of his works are highly praised
by such musical personalities as Keith Lockhart of the Boston Pops, Cheryl Bentyne of the Manhattan
Transfer, Joyce Moreno, and Toninho Horta. His compositions are currently published through Yamaha
Music Media and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) Jazz Press, and are being performed across
the globe. In addition to his composing and playing, Abe is a respected educator and frequently gives
master classes for arranging, producing, and vocal group singing. He enjoys traveling throughout the
world to share his passion in writing, producing, and performing music.
