Berklee Performance Center Concerts
April 12- An Evening with the Ralnbow Band - An evening of jazz featuring the
two well seasoned Rainbow ensembles under the direction of trombonist/
composer/arranger Professor Phil Wilson. The Berklee Rainbow Big Band and the o
Rainbow All Stars have recently toured to the Eastern Music Educators National
Conference in Pittsburgh as well as the Tri-City Jazz Festival in Cleveland. This
concert will feature many of the College’s top performers with both ensembles at
their peak.
April 19- Singers Showcase Singer's Showcase will feature the following vocal-
ists: Carrie Turner, Alisa Miles, Kevin Wood,Jason Joseph, Gina Cuchetti, Laura
Clapp,Thomas Kivlan, and Alison Bordlemay featuring songs by the following
artists: John Secada, Melissa Etheridge, Prince, Celine Dion, Peobo Bryson,
Phyllis Hyman, Lenny Kravitz, Bizet, and others.
April 23 — Josh Davis /Spirit Jazz featuring Carolyn Wilkins - Ensemble depart-
ment faculty member bassist Josh Davis directs his group in an evening of
contemporary jazz.
Then the SpiritJazz ensemble features the words and music of pianist vocalist
Carolyn Wilkins performing fresh treatments of popular works by jazz masters
Duke Ellington, Horace Silver and Mary Lou Williams. SpiritJazz includes faculty
members Bill Thomson, saxophone, Herman Hampton, bass, Larry Baione, guitar,
Angelamia Bachemin, percussion with Patrick Charles drums.
April 24 - Fernando Brandao/Wayne Naus - Ensemble department faculty
members showcase their performing, composition and arranging skills as they
direct their groups in an evening of contemporary jazz. Flutist Fernando Brandao
presents Jazz and Latin jazz originals. Then trumpeter Wayne Naus presents his
jazz fusion group Moksha.
April 25- The Berklee Reverence Gospel Ensemble - An evening of contemporary
and traditional gospel music performed by Berklee's Reverence Gospel Ensemble
directed by faculty member Dennis Montgomery IIl. Berklee's small gospel
ensemble, Overjoyed, will also perform.
April 26 — Winston Maccow,/Hip Hop Ensemble- Ensemble department faculty
member Winston Maccow presents his student ensemble in performance as part
of Ensemble Week activities. Then the Berklee student Hip-Hop ensemble
performs under the direction of percussion faculty Angelamia Bachemin.
