Berklee Performance Center Concerts
Spring ‘85

DIFFERENT STROKES — An evening of original contemporary instru-
mental music featuring material from the recently released album
“Different Strokes" is presented by faculty vibist Ed Saindon

and Spectrum.

BUT. . . PIGS DON'T EAT MEAT! — Drummer Aaron Scott leads an all-
star student trio in an evening of contemporary jazz with special guest,
saxophonist Tommy Smith.

LUSH LIFE — Vocal jazz arrangements in a variety of settings from
a capella to rhythm section and big band accompanlment will be
presented by pianist/composer/arranger Dan Williams.

Double Concert — IN WALKED BUD PART I1I/STRONGER THAN BEFORE
— In the first half of this two-for-one concert saxophonist Bruce Revels
leads his all-star sextet through a variety of styles. Bassist Winston Maccow
then directs a big band in a program of jazz and pop music with
special guest, faculty pianist Orville Wright.

Double Concert — STOP LOOK LISTEN/GAMES — Vocalist

Katherine McVicker returns to the Performance Center stage to present
a concert of jazz standards and contemporary songs for the first

half of this double concert. In the second half senior guitarist Greg Zwicke
presents pop and modern jazz compositions with special guest faculty
vocalist Nancy Tellier. &

DINOSAURS ON PARADE — Faculty trumpeter/composer Ken Pullig
presents an evening of original music in a variety of traditional jazz
styles and a third stream composition performed by an all-star faculty
ensemble, Decahedron.

GROOVEMASTERS — "Uplands;” The Berklee Tower of Power Ensemble
directed by faculty trombonist Tom Frazee will perform a program of
funk, rock, and pop tunes by top Berklee composers and the Tower
of Power band.

Double Concert — VANDAVORLD/"CHAN" — In the first half of this
two-for-one concert, senior pianist Wermer Gierig leads a trio and quartet
in a program of jazz originals and standards. Vocalist David Chandler
then directs his ensemble in a program of jazz and funk music.

Double Concert — BAND OF ALIENS/THE UPTEMPO ZONE — Opening
this concert is pianist/composer/arranger Jorge Carrizo and his large
ensemble performing Latin, funk, and jazz originals. This will be
followed in the second half by drummer Dave Pullman presenting
contemporary jazz in trio and quartet settings with special guest faculty
saxophonist George Garzone.
