The Music of Stevie Wonder
22 Fenway, Room B12
This session will focus on Stevie Wonder’s music. With a
focus on harmony, this session will strive to illustrate how
the harmony chosen by Wonder supports the narrative of
his compositions, while searching for approaches he most
commonly used. These two areas of focus help uncover some
of what makes his music so special.

The Music of Poetry
22 Fenway, Room 204
This session will look at poetry through the lens of musical
composition, revealing fundamental compositional
links between the two art forms. We will look at poetic
counterpointing and syncopation, demonstrating the uses of
tension/resolution and basic harmonic functions in poetry.
