March 2 Janus - A two-piano concert featuring students Ivana Lisak and Yoon-
Seung Cho in a program of contemporary music by Stravinsky and Messiaen
followed by contemporary jazz originals.

March 9 - Nordic Voices - Stambandet, The Scandinavia Vocal Ensemlbe
directed by faculty member Allen LeVines features sixteen accomplished singers
performing the vocal traditions of Iceland, Normway and Sweden. With six and
seven part harmonies sung in three langueages, the group performs a wide range
of folk traditions including "trall"--singers imitating fiddlers playing dance music.

March 3- WMN - Women Musicians Network presents WMN,

Sponsored by the College Diversity Committee. Students Ivanne Deneroff and
Adrianne Gonzalesm, with faculty member Lucy Holstedt and Student Activities
Director Jane Stachowiak, have arranged eleven women acts representing
diverse styles including alternate rock, folk, jazz, R & B, spiritual, and pop and
diverse religious and ethnic cultures from Central America, Israel, and Canada.
The sixth concert of its type makes its BPC premiere kicking off March celebra-
tions of Women's History Month at Berklee.

March 4- Write of Spring - This concert features the writings of six faculty
from the Jazz Composition department performed by an all-faculty band with
varied instrumentation from 10 piece group to larger ensembles. Featured
composers are Scott Free, Jeff Friedman, Dick Lowell, Jackson Schultz, and Bill
Scism.

March 5- Piano Department Faculty Concert - Steve Hunt/Bob
Christopherson - Steve hunt opens wioth his quintet in a program of jzz/funk
fusion. Then Bob Christopherson and his quintet feature original compositions in
the jazz/funk style.

March 9 - Verde - The Music of Carlos Benavides/Sonata for Jazz Quintet -
Original popular Latin-American music sung in Spanish with string section is
presented by composer/arranger/singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist
Carlos Benavides. Then guitarist/composer Brandon Furman presents modern,
through composed jazz influenced by Bartok, Haydn, Bach, Weather Report and
Coltrane for his quintet.

March 11- Music of Contemporary Writing and Production Majors - This
third annual concert features the writing of Majors in the Contemporary Writing
and Production department. Pop/Rock, fusion and Latin selections will feature
performances by many of Berklee's talented student performers.
