Berklee Concerts

at the
Performance Center

“Hypertension”, directed by student Steve Jenkins, this group is one of the
top funk bands in the area a la Earth, Wind and Fire.

“The Mike Scott Concert”, Faculty member Scott leads his “little big band” -
in a performance of his own compositions.

Mimi Brodsky/Mark Ledford, two mini concerts in one evening. Brodsky
and Ledford, two of the better student vocalists, lead their respective
groups in an evening of pop, rock and jazz.

“The Jeff Friedman Orchestra”, faculty member Friedman, leads his jazz
ensemble in an evening of music a la Mingus, Ellington, etc. All the music is
composed or arranged by the leader.

Randy Miller, student Miller presents a musical theater production
featuring some of Berklee's better student performers.

“The Berklee Film Festival — Reel 3, annual screening of films for which
music has been composed, scored, and performed by Berklee students,
coordinated by Don Wilkins.

“Here We Go Again — Orchestra Tropica”, one of the fine latin groups in
the area led by student trumpeters Edgard Nevarez and Tommy Villariny.
“North Goes South”, faculty member Orville Wright leads a medium size
faculty band through an evening of originals and standards that bridge a
variety of jazz styles.

“Just Us”, an evening of big band music led by faculty member Paul
Dioguardi.

“Weird Winds & Co.”, student Andy Phillips directs a program of contem-
porary chamber music composed by himself and fellow composition
majors.

“Swanee”, directed by student Ric Swanson, a gifted drummer/composer,
this big band features vocalist Candy Sto%t in an‘evening of jazz/rock/
pop etc.

“Synfun”, a completely synthesized nine member band utilizing Lyricon,
Odessey, Minimoog, Avatar and Syndrum with an acoustic-electric quintet,
directed by John Amaral.

“Decahedron + 1 In Concert”, award winning composer Ken Pullig leads
his ten piece faculty band for an evening of adventuresome jazz.

The Berklee Concert Jazz Orchestra, directed by Herb Pomeroy, this is the
most prestigious ensemble in the College in a program of contemporary big
band music.

“Here To Have Fun”, student Phil Stout directs a “Vegas” style show featur-
ing singers with a2 back up group. Styles represent a cross section of

“The Berklee Jazz Choir”, a large choral group in a cross section of vocal
jazz styles, directed by Brian O’Connell.

“Takin’ Care of Business — 6”, the Berklee Jazz/Rock Ensemble in its
annual Fall Rock & Roll outing, directed by Robert Rose.

“Country Soul Stew,” faculty member Mike Ihde’s “Flat Rats and Sail Cats”
present an evening of country & western unlike any you’'ve ever heard.
