Juilliard Cento Sonnet music by Linda Dallimore
poem by Philip Dacey

Emily Rosenberg, soprano
Gabriel Majou, violin

Sean Brennan, cello

Mona Seyed-Bolorforosh, piano
Vincent Isler, conductor

Composer's note:

Philip Dacey's poem was inspired by his reqular attendance at Juilliard
masterclasses, as a listener during his time in New York City. The poem is in
‘cento’ form - essentially a collection of quotes from the coaches of Juilliard
chamber music masterclasses. The musical form mirrors this, using quotes from
well known Piano Trios, which the composer imagines Philip Dacey may have
heard during the masterclasses: The Ravel Piano Trio, Ives Piano Trio, and

Elliott Carter's last work, Epigrams.
