Berklee Performance Center Concerts

October 23- Bass Department Faculty Concert: A Tribute to Carol Kaye -
Bass department faculty members—David Clark, Danny Morris, Jim
Stinnett, Bruce Gertz— showcase the diversity of the department with a
variety of groups and settings in a tribute to famed studio bassist Carol
Kaye.

October 31- Millennium Dreams Part 2/Kiyoshi Nishiji Presents
Majestique Blue — A contemporary Jazz fusion quintet called Swamp
Things presents original compositions by leader pianist/composer Emir
Isialy. Then an eight piece fusion band directed by drummer, composer
and arranger Kiyoshi Nisihiji performs original compositions and arrange-
ments with special guests faculty members Wayne Naus, trumpet; Paul
Stiller, keyboards and Dino Govoni, tenor saxophone.

November 1- Fall Together - The Jazz Composition Dept. and a faculty
Jazz Orchestra will perform Ken Pullig’s extended composition “Politickle
Your Fancy”, a 30-minute musical satire based on the presidential
campaign and November election. Additionally, there will be perfor-
mances of pieces by Greg Hopkins, Ted Pease, Bob Pilkington, Marc
Rossi, Bruce Thomas, and Phil Wilson. The ensemble is a jazz orchestra
made up of Berklee faculty, many of them in feature roles. Other fea-
tured guests include vocalist Bob Thompson and indo-jazz saxophonist
Phil Scarff.

Patton, Dan Harrington, Harry Skolar Scott DeOgburn, Dave Johnson, Ken
Pullig, George Zonce, Greg Hopkins, Joseph Smith, Phil Wilson, Bob
Pilkington, Jason Camelio, Ben Elkins, Tom Richards, Greg Fritze, Bruce
Thomas, Marc Rossi, Scott Free, Winnie Dahlgren, Michael Farquharson,
Bob Tamagni, Kevin Newton, Kris Adams

November 2- Panicamilincina/.WAV-Guitar, bass drums trio under the
direction of Francesco Guaina plays jazz originals influenced by Italian,
Middle East, and European Folk Music and interpreted with dynamic
interply among trio members. Then percussionist/composer Vessela
Stoyanova presents the .WAV ensemble-two Bulgarians, a Macedonian,
two Greeds, a Swiss and three Americans mixing surf rock and eastern
flavors in a style that attempts to fuse eastern and western musics.
