Berklee Performance Center Concerts



FALL 1993

THE BASS DEPARTMENT FACULTY CONCERT—This year’s concert
will feature a faculty bass choir and other musical settings that will
feature Bass Department faculty members Bruce Gertz, Joe Santerre,
and Danny Morris. The bass choir will include Greg Mooter, Rich
Appleman, John Repucci, Dave Clark, Dave Hollender, Whit Browne,
Bruce Gertz, and Barrie Smith.

FALL TOGETHER—The Jazz Composition Department’s ninth annual
concert features a faculty ensemble performing compositions by
faculty members Ted Pease, Bob Pilkington, Bruce Thomas, Greg
Hopkins, Marc Rossi, Phil Wilson, and Ken Pullig. Department Chair
Ken Pullig’'s composition Sorrow, Blues, and Sweet Goodbyes is a
tribute to the late Berklee faculty member Alex Ulanowsky and Phil
Wilson’s piece features himself and student trombonist Jordan Murray.

WASABI ORCHESTRA—Drummer/composer/arranger Masayuki
Shigihara leads the Wasabi Orchestra in a big band concert featuring
student arrangers in the Jazz Composition major. Featured writers
include Meiji Hamamoto, Gil Doron, Shinji Arai, Fumi Tamura, and
Michiko Takatani.

EAR TRAINING DEPARTMENT FACULTY CONCERT—This concert
will feature members of the Ear Training Department faculty as they
perform in various styles and instrumental settings. Featured faculty
include: saxophonists Greg Badolato, Bill Thompson, and Daryl
Lowery; trumpeter Brian Lewis; vocalists Robin Ginenthal, Gaye Tolan
Hatfield, and Roberta Radley; and pianists Tony Germain and Steve
Prosser. Compositions and arrangements by Lydia Okumura will also
be featured.

BRASH BRASS BASH III, Part 1—As part of the Brass Department’s
Brass Week events, faculty trumpeter Jeff Stout will lead his quartet,
with faculty rhythm section Maggi Scott, piano, Dave Clark, bass, and
Bob Tamagni, drums, and guest vocalist Debby Larkin, in a program
of jazz standards. Then, the Berklee Faculty Brass Ensemble, directed
by Greg Hopkins, will perform original compositions by Phil Wilson,
Bruce Thomas, Bob Pilkington, and Hopkins, for brass ensemble.
