Berklee Performance Center Concerts

September 14 - Bill Stewart and Friends -
Zildjian drumset artist, Bill Stewart, will be
performing with some of Berklee's top facul-
ty in a quartet setting as part of the new
Zildjian Artist-In-residence program.

September 20 - You Stepped Into a Dream
- Faculty pianist Suzanna Sifter presents con-
temporary jazz originals for her trio including
faculty members David Clark, bass and Yoron
Israel, drums with featured soloist faculty
trombonist Tony Lada. Tim Miller Trio —
Faculty guitarist Tim Miller will perform origi-
nal music from his new recording Trio, with
bassist Josh Davis, and faculty drummer Mark
Walker with special guest Vardan Ousepian,
on Fender Rhodes.

September 21 - It's the Mark Shilansky
Show! Under the Covers Pianist/Vocalist
Mark Shilansky presents an evening of pop
music, jazz, and humor, featuring his large
band and special guests. In a talk-show
format, Shilansky performs with and inter-
views guests, this time featuring prominent
students and alumni, performing original
material and discussing and performing cover
songs, usually by artists who were important
influences on the perfomers. Featured
guests include vocalists Jeremy Ragsdale,
Lucas Madrazo, and Laura Brunner, alumni
bassist/vocalist Jennifer Oberle, and Irish
singer/songwriter Katie McD.

September 23 - Lalah Hathaway - The
daughter of the great Donny Hathaway,
Berklee alumnae Lalah Hathaway made with
her recording debut in 1990. She not only
displays poise, confidence, and good tech-
nique, but is also versatile enough to do
more than urban contemporary ballads. Her
stage shows includes jazz, pre-rock pop, and
gospel. She has recorded with Joe Sample,
Marcus Miller, and many others.

October 5 - Moksha-Beyond Visible Light
- Moksha is an eight piece Berklee faculty
group that performs original music influ-
enced by jazz, fusion and world music styles.
Leader trumpet player/composer Wayne Naus
likes to say that “It's not about a style...it’s
about and adventure.” The 70 minute on-
stop performance is 40% composed and
60% improvised. Moksha'snew2est member,
architect/jazz musician/computer visionary
Chris Janney, will create original computer
generated visual animation triggered by each
band member in real time. This unique con-
cert experience takes each listener on their
own journey through a landscape of sight
and sound.
